Mr. Douglas T.M. Campbell 1912 - 2008 Miramichi - Mr. Douglas T.M. Campbell, husband of the late Anna Campbell, of Highway 11, Napan, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Sunday morning, August 31, 2008, at the age of 96. Born in Chatham, on June 14, 1912, he was the son of the late Charles and Hannah (Gilliss) Campbell. Prior to retirement, he was the owner / operator of Campbell's General Store, in Napan, until its closure and the owner / operator of the Morada Motel in the former Town of Chatham. He was a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi; a former member of the Board of Stewards; a member of the Senior Men's Choir of St. Andrews United Church; a Past President of the Miramichi Chapter of the Highland Society; a long time member of the Miramichi Golf & Country Club; a member of the former Chatham Curling Club; a former member of the Chatham Board of Trade. He is survived by one daughter, Gale Campbell, of Napan; one sister, Lillian McLeanaghan, of Napan; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Anna Landry, in 1986. By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The public are invited to attend the funeral service, to be held from St. Andrews United Church, Wellington St., Miramichi, on Thursday, September 4, 2008, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Miramichi. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Andrews United Church (Local Funds) or St. Michaels Cemetery Fund, would be appreciated by the family.
