John "Woody" Woodard
John "Woody" Woodard 1950-2008 John "Woody" Woodard, 58, of Dawson Settlement passed away on September 2, 2008 at his residence following a courageous struggle with cancer. Woody was born in Moncton on February 28, 1950 the son of the late Edward and Eileen Woodard. He worked at CN as a welder and last worked in construction with MRM. Woody loved all sports and was known for being the catcher and third base coach for Lynn's Sport Shop Softball team in the Hillsborough Softball League. He was also known for his annual Toilet Bowl Tournaments that took place at Woody's home. He also enjoyed hunting and was looking forward to getting his moose this year as he got his moose license. He loved his sheepdog, Harley, who he took with him wherever he went. Woody was always smiling and had a great sense of humour. He was the type of guy who once you met him you would never forget him. He will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He will be deeply missed by his son, Josh (Amy) of Moncton; daughter, Jamie of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Edward of Osborne Corner. He will also be missed by his special friends, Joy Wilson, Bonnie Wilson, Betty Grant, Justin Raworth, Dave Tuck, Jeff Elderkin, Wendy & Sasha Jonah, Deborah "The Witch of Ireland", Dave Steeves, Bud Frazee "The Lizzard" and by many other good friends. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Friday evening from 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at 2:00pm with Rev. Jonathan Gorham officiating. Interment will take place in the Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.
