Minnie C. Godfrey 1918 - 2008 Miramichi - Minnie Cavell Godfrey, widow of the late Austin D. Godfrey, of the North Black River Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Sunday morning, September 7, 2008, at the age of 89. Born in Bayside, on October 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William and Phoebe (Dutcher) Taylor. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge; A founding member of the Black River Senior Citizens Club; a former member of the Black River Bridge Ladies Aid; a member of the Victoria Knitting Club; a former Sunday School Teacher. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Seamans (Paul), and Alberta Barry, of Miramichi; three sons, William Godfrey (Elizabeth), of Moncton, Albert Godfrey (Bonnie), of Napan and Edgar Godfrey (Diane), of Black River Bridge; eight grandchildren, Keith, Jason, Jeremy Godfrey, Dwain Seaman, Kyla Vermette, Aimee Barry, Crystal and Melanie Godfrey; four great grandchildren, Laura & Taylor Godfrey, Rebecca & Austin Seaman; one sister in law, Frances Taylor; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Austin, in 1994; one sister, Gena Fraser; two brothers, Arthur Taylor and infant Robert Taylor; one special nephew, Ellsworth Godfrey. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Monday only, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge, on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at 4 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery.
