Yvon Marquis 1938 - 2008 Yvon Marquis, 70, of Bouctouche, has passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family on Thursday September 18th, 2008 at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Married to Jeannette (Robichaud) Marquis, Yvon was born in Montreal on July 22nd, 1938 to the late Donat and the late Marie (Bruneau) Marquis. Yvon joined the RCMP in 1958 at the age of 19. He was proud to serve 35 years with the organization, in J, M, C, and O division. Retired as Criminal Operations officer as chief Superintendent in C Division, Montreal, Quebec. Respected by many, he enjoyed a fulfilling career. Yvon was a caring person who found time to volunteer for different associations, such as the Manoir St-Jean Baptiste, the Lions Club, Bouctouche, and the Saint-Jean Baptiste parish church. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves to mourn him, his wife Jeannette, his three children, Donald (Christine) of Quebec, Que. Guy (Karen) of Lamèque, Janice Marquis (Sean Rooney) of Moncton, four wonderful grandchildren, Jessie, Stephanie, Vanessa and Nicolas, one sister, Jeannine Narbonne (Paul), two brothers, Marcel (Jacqueline), Claude (late Annette), one sister-in-law, Blanche Marquis all of Montreal, and several nephews and nieces. Yvon was predeceased by one brother, Jean-Paul. Visitation will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home Ltd., 29 rue de l'église, Bouctouche, on Tuesday September 23rd, from 7 to 9 and on Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Wednesday September 24th, 2008 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Saint-Louis de Gonzague Cemetery in Aldouane. In Yvon's memory donations to the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
