Kathleen Blanche
Kathleen Blanche 1924 - 2008 Kathleen Blanche passed away peacefully at The Moncton City Hospital on Monday, October 20th, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Born in London, England, daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine Burnstead. Kathleen served in the British army and came to Canada as a war bride in 1944, settling and raising a family in Toronto. Kathleen worked in retail jewellery trade in both Halifax and Moncton until her retirement in 1984. Prior to her illness she enjoyed the several years she worked as a volunteer at the Moncton hospital as well as her membership in the I.O.D.E. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Dale of New York and her three sons, Lorne (Tracy) of Moncton, Neil (Dianne) of Montreal and Craig (Dorilda) of PEI; grandchildren, Matthew, Derick, Jillian and Meridith. She is also survived by one brother Derek of Pillingham Kent England. Besides her parents Kathleen was predeceased by one daughter, Mary. In respect of Kathleen's wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and staff at People's Park Towers for the care and attention they provided to Kathleen over the past several years.
