John Brownell

John Brownell 1917-2008 John Brownell passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, October 24th, 2008. Born in Baie Verte, N.B. December, 28th, 1917, he was the son of the late William J. and Lida (Waugh) Brownell. John is survived by wife Mary Edna (MacDonald) Brownell, son James Murray and daughter-in-law Gloria of Charlottetown, half sister Ginny Luck. John was predeceased by sisters Helen Brownell, and Lynda Bray. Employed by Canadian Canners Ltd., Middleton, N.S. until joining Royal Canadian Engineers in 1940. After discharge became a member of Canadian National Railways Sales and Service Dept. located at Halifax, Campbellton, Sydney and on retirement was manager Freight Sales and Services of the Moncton Area. An original member of the Mount Royal United Church he was a member of the first Board of Stewards and at the official opening of the present church was an elder. A member of the CNR Supervisors Association and the CNR Pensioners Association. A memorial service will take place in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29th, 2008, Rev Brett Anningson officiating. If desired, a donation to the Mount Royal United Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by family. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530.
