Maureen J. Murray 1918 - 2008 The death of Maureen J. Murray of Briggs Cross Road, Lutes Mountain, occurred at her residence on Saturday, November 15, 2008. Born in Ireland on April 16, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah (Glass) Murray. Maureen received her nurse's training at the Halifax Infirmary and her Masters in Public Health Nursing from Columbia University. She worked at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York and also practiced private duty nursing for most of her career in the United States. She is survived by her brothers, Patrick (Ethel) and James both of Moncton, Jack of Bedford and Joseph (Yvonne) of Fredericton; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Agnes Murphy. Resting at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home, (857-1110) 114 Alma Street, Moncton, visiting hours are on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Botsford Street, Moncton on Wednesday, November 19 at 11am followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will be in the cemetery in Melrose, NB. Donations in Miss Murray's memory made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
