W. A. Douglas (Doug) Steven W. A. Douglas (Doug) Steven, 92, of Lower Coverdale, with his family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, January 8, 2009, following a short illness. Born in Humphrey, he was the son of the late Douglas and Berferd (Snow) Steven. Doug was a retired CNR Car Foreman with 44 years service and was a member of Keith Lodge # 23 F and AM. He was formerly involved in Model Railroaders (Moncton), the Greater Moncton Aeromodeler's Club and The Fundy Radio Club. Doug will be deeply missed by his wife of over 70 years, Ruby (Colbourn); daughter, Joy Patterson (Carl), Lower Coverdale; grandchildren, Kara and Larry; great granddaughter, Samara; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, predeceased by his sister, Ada Smith. No visitation by personal request. Funeral service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Sunday, January 11, 2009, 2:00 pm, Rev. Harold MacDonald officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
