Virginia Cecile (Mahoney) (O'Neill) Silkstone 1922 - 2009 The death of Virginia Cecile Silkstone, 86 years, of The Drew Nursing Home, Sackville and formerly of Moncton and Toronto occurred at her residence on Friday, January 9th 2009. Born in Ottawa, May 23, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Simon John and Blanche (Villeneuve) Mahoney. Mrs. Silkstone retired from the Ministry of Training and Colleges of Ontario, in 1990, after many years service as an Executive Secretary. Twice married she was predeceased by her husbands Edward O'Neill and James Silkstone. She is survived by her son Ward (Susan) O'Neill, one granddaughter Melissa O'Neill and one grandson Jeremy O'Neill (Beverly) all of Moncton. In addition to her parents and husbands she was predeceased by her brother Beltram Mahoney. By request there will not be public visiting hours or funeral service. A graveside service will take place in Elmwood Cemetery later in the spring. Donations in Mrs. Silkstone's memory made to the Autism Society of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
