85, Mill Creek It is with heartfelt sadness the family announce the passing of Mary Olive Marsh, age 85, a lifelong resident of Mill Creek, and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at the Northside General Hospital. Born in Mill Creek, Olive was the daughter of the late Stephen Devoe and Lena Thurbide. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Theodore 'Ted' Marsh; her two daughters, Greta (Carl) Hillier, Anne Cox, both of North Sydney; five grandchildren, Tammy, Paula, Darryl, Billy Joe, Jennifer; and four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Michael, Mason and Courtney; her sisters, Kay, Marjorie, Gerry, Cindy, Linda, Irene, Clair and Frances; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Leonard, two grandchildren, Mary Louise and David Hillier, a sister, Betty and brothers, Patrick, Johnny, Hartland, Harry and Arthur. No visitation by request. Funeral mass for Olive will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or, with Rev. Peter MacLeod officiating, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery.
