Sadly, on Nov. 18, 2008, in her 89th year, with her family by her side, at the Medex Nursing facility in Ottawa. Predeceased by her husband, Cmdr. Hugh L. Crawford (ret.). Jean is survived by her beloved son, Wayne (Kathy), Baddeck, N.S. Much loved Grammie to Patrick (Helen), Ottawa, and Jeannie, Toronto. GG will be sadly missed by her great-grandsons, Owen and Dylan. She is also survived by her brother, Donald (Pauline), Toronto; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Sadie Bruce and by her brother, Robert (Betty). Jean had many friends in Halifax, Baddeck and in Ottawa, where she currently resided and she will be missed by them all. Jean was a very talented lady with oil painting, knitting, stained glass, photography, badminton and bowling among her interests. In keeping with Jean's wishes, a private burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Halifax, N.S., where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband.
