Vera B. MacKinnon Vera B. MacKinnon, 94, of Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage, NS and formerly of Moncton and Scotch Settlement, with members of her family by her side, passed away peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth, NS on Friday February 6, 2009. Born in Middle Sackville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Gertrude (Yeomans) Stokes. Vera was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was a member of Middle Sackville Baptist Church. She was an avid outdoors person, enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, watching hockey games (Maple Leaf fan) but first and foremost was her love for her family and friends. Vera will be sadly missed by her son, Jim (Carol), Dartmouth, NS; daughter, Ruth Steeves (Kenneth), Courtenay, BC; grandchildren, Terry, David, Greg, Craig, Tim, Jennifer and Melissa; great grandchildren, Dwayne, Aaron, Zoe, Michelle, Karen, Leanne, Caleb, Rebecah and Arielle; two great great grandsons; sister, Florence Rhodes, Sackville, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, predeceased by her husband Donald E. MacKinnon (March 1995); brother, Robert.
