Phyllis G. Hopper
Phyllis G. Hopper 1934 - 2009 Phyllis G. Hopper of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009. Born in Fredericton, on September 11th, 1934, she was the daughter the late Hebert and Edna (Cluely) Dawkins. Phyllis retired from the RCAF in Trenton, ON, and worked for Sears Automotive in Dieppe and Woolco in Moncton. She was an active member of the Sunny Brae Baptist Church, a volunteer support counselor with the Canadian Cancer Society and an avid 'tit Bateau Paddler. Her children always said, "If we can't find Mom, she was either at the church or on the water paddling." She was such an inspiration for living life to the fullest until God called her home on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009. Phyllis will be deeply missed by her three children, Pamela (Bernard) Richard, Beverly (Pierrot) LeBlanc, Michael (Christa) Hopper, and the five grand children she adored; Marc LeBlanc, Lauren Richard, Michael Richard, Nicholas Hopper and Carlee Hopper, her brother Clair (Rae) Dawkins, sisters; Cathy (Robert) Giles, Gloria Dawkins, several nieces and nephews and all her wonderful friends she has met over the years. We will love you for always. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Alvin Hopper and an infant brother Melvin. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home, with visitation on, Wednesday February 25th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 26th, 2009 at Sunny Brae Baptist Church 85 Elmwood Drive, Moncton, Pastor Colin Cook officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in memory of Phyllis, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of NB.
