Beatrice A. Steeves Beatrice A. Steeves, 87, of Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Pellerin St. Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday February 22, 2009. Born in Hillside, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Florence (Doyle) Harbell. Beatrice was a retired school teacher with 35 ½ years service, retiring from Gunningsville Elementary school. She was a graduate of Fredericton Normal School and updated her teacher's license with teaching courses at University of Moncton and University of New Brunswick (UNB). She attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, member of the NB Retired Teacher's Association (Moncton) and the Moncton Lion's Senior Citizen's Association. She enjoyed shopping, bus tours and spending time with her family and friends. Beatrice will be sadly missed by her husband of over 59 years, Charles I. Steeves; niece, Linda Weldon (Cecil), Lutes Mountain; several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Carmen, Loretta, Elizabeth and her brother, John. Visitation, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton (858-1995), Wednesday 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday February 26, 2009, 1pm. Rev. Allison Carroll officiating.
