
Joseph Oscar Jaillet
Joseph Oscar Jaillet 1922 - 2009 Joseph (Joe) Oscar Jaillet of Shediac Bridge passed away peacefully on March 25th, 2009 at The Moncton Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Saint-Edouard-de-Kent on March 6th, 1922 to the late Celestin and Elise (Richard) Jaillet. Joe was a Veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch #6. He worked as a Motor Mechanic for many years in Moncton before moving to Salem, Mass., where he worked as a Mechanic prior to retiring to Shediac Bridge in 1985. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Pointe de Chene and the Silver Sands Seniors Club, Shediac Cape. Joe will be sadly missed by his children; Jim (Ellen) of Redlands, California, Catherine Jaillet of Danvers, Mass., Gregory (Daryll) of Cornwall, ON., Janet Jaillet (Mack) of Presque Isle, Maine, and step-son Kenneth Welling (Florence) of Cocagne and step-daughter Barbara Buck (Eldon) of Ottawa, ON., and several grand children, great grand children as well several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister Helena Cormier of Madawaska, Me., and four brothers; Regis (Wynona) of Irishtown, Ernest (Lorraine) of Dixon Point, Edmond of Kelowna, BC, and Emile (Rachelle) of Shediac. Joe was predeceased by Dorothy (McCall) his wife of 58 years, step-sons Donald and Walter, sisters Eva, Antoinette and Anne Emma, brothers; Fernand, Sylvio, Narcisse, Clement, and Norman. A special thanks to the nurses and staff on 3600 for their care and compassion, Dr. Peters, Dr. Mansfield, Dr. Assi, Sister MacQuaid and Father Barrieau. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, March 29th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a service at 6:45 pm in the funeral home prior to the evening visitation, everyone is welcome. The funeral service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Monday, March 30th, 2009 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
