Milton W. Smith

Milton W. Smith 1919 - 2009 Milton W. Smith, 89 of the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville and formerly of Moncton, passed away at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, April 25th, 2009. Born in Albert Mines, Milton was a retired Store Department Supervisor at the CNR shops, Moncton with 43 ½ years service. Milton was a member of the United Commercial Travelers Council #758, member of the CNR Pensioners Association, CNR War Vets, the Army Sergeants Mess and the Moncton Legion Branch #6. He was a Veteran of WWII, served with the R.C.A.S.C. and the Reserve Army. Milton will be sadly missed by his wife of over 69 years, Doris (Knowlan) Smith; daughter, Ferne Lindhurst (James); son, Gary (Doris); grandchildren, Cheryl Hopkins, Tracy Reay; step grandchildren, Coleen and Rob Lindhurst; three step great grandchildren; sister, Alma Anthony (Douglas); several nieces and nephews. No visitation by personal request. Moncton Legion Branch #6 Memorial Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Thursday, April 30, 2009, 11:00 am, immediately followed by the funeral service, conducted by Rev. Dr. Philip Griffin-Allwood. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
