Harold Gordon Stephenson
Harold Gordon Stephenson 1922 - 2009 Harold Gordon Stephenson, 86, of Moncton passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital after a brief illness on Saturday June 6, 2009. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Charles and Ruby (Murray) Stephenson. A graduate of Moncton High, he served overseas with the Tank Division of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers. On his return, he graduated in 1948 from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro. At Co-Op Atlantic, he was manager of the Livestock Dept. and was a livestock auctioneer. Harold started the Petroleum Dept. in 1961. He retired to his beloved farm and ran a very successful hog operation. Harold spent many years enjoying the company of the people who came to his U-pick raspberry field and trout pond. He enjoyed gardening in the summer, raising prize winning glades and dahlias, doing wood work in the winter turning out many beautiful lamps and furniture pieces. Harold will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Marion (MacMichael); sons, Michael (Joanne) and Jack (Kathy); granddaughter, Morgan and her mother, Lorri. Special nieces, Barbara Groundwater (Allan), Margie Wilson and nephew Donald Wilson. No visitation at Harold's request. Funeral Service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995), Tuesday June 9, 2009, 11:00am. Rev. Dr. Winston Parks officiating. Interment, St. John's United Church Cemetery, West Branch at a later date.
