RUTH ELIZABETH CARTER
CARTER, RUTH ELIZABETH - 87 - Lower Sackville and formerly of Westchester went to be with her Lord on July 15, 2009 in the QEII, Infirmary Site, Halifax with her loving family by her side. Born in Westchester, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (Brown) Langille. Ruth taught school in Westchester for 20 years before retiring at the age of 65. She dedicated her life to the Lord and her salvation was very apparent in her everyday life. She was a member of the Sackville Wesleyan Church. Ruth's life was her family. The past 18 years, she spent with her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Donna Carter in Lower Sackville, NS. She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth (Dennis) Svestka, Shelburne, Ont.; sons, Doug (Donna), Lower Sackville, Anton (Phyllis), North Bay, Ont.; grandchildren, Anton (Marilee) Carter, Doug Carter Jr., Grant (Tara) Carter, Dennis Carter, Darren (Natasha) Porter, Nicole Johnson, Jennifer Porter; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Leaman, Pembroke. Ont.; sisters, Eleanor Brown, Moncton, NB, Dorothy MacDonald, Westchester, NS Irene McGinn, Miramichi, NB; sister-in-law, Maureen Langille, Ottawa, Ont. She was predeceased by her husband, Anton Frankford Carter; grandson, Michael Carter; brother, Fred; sisters, Francis Ferdinand and Phyllis Scott. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro; funeral service on Sunday, July 19 at 2:00 pm in the Wesleyan Church, Westchester with Rev. Charles Bain and Rev. Michael Zottarelli officiating. Interment in Eagle Hill Cemetery, Westchester. A reception will follow the interment in the Westchester Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made the Wesleyan Church, Westchester. The family wish to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses at the QEII, Infirmary Site, Halifax, for the wonderful care of Ruth while she was a patient there.
