
OSCAR MONGRAIN
MONGRAIN, OSCAR - 1922 - 2009 - Oscar Mongrain, 86, of Villa du Repos, formerly of Noel Street, Moncton, passed away on Wednesday, August 12th 2009 at his residence. Born in Shawinigan Falls, QC, he was the son of the late Alfred and the late Eva (née: Thifault) Mongrain. Prior to retirement, Mr. Mongrain worked at CN for over 39 years. He was an avid bowler, formerly a volunteer for the Red Cross meals to seniors program, a member of the Lakeside Golf & Country Club, the Moncton Horseshoe Club, the Club d'Age d'Or de Parkton, Knights of Columbus "Parkton" and a parishioner of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by one daughter, Gisele of Moncton; two sons, Richard (Joanne) of Dieppe and Denis of Moncton; three sisters, Jeanne-Mance (Yvon) Simard, Jeannine (Normand) Thellend and Hugette Bourque; one brother, Claude; one grandson, Alexandre as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Corinne in 2004; one daughter, Priscille; one sister, Dorilda; and also by three brothers, Marcel, Henri-Paul and Emilien. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (857-1901), on Thursday, August 13th 2009 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Friday from 9: 30 am until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, NB on Friday, August 14th 2009 at 11 am.
