MATCHETT, PETER W. - Peter W. Matchett, 76, of Gallagher Ridge, with his family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, August 20th, 2009. Born in Harvey, he was the son of the late Earl and Marjorie (Matthews) Matchett. Peter was a self employed businessman. He was the former owner of Matchett's Grocery and Restaurant and Pine Ridge Campground in Gallagher Ridge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and socializing with his friends and family. Peter will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Jean (Hamilton) Matchett; sons, Larry (Mary), Miramichi, Bertram, Gallagher Ridge; daughter, Tammy Matchett, Riverview; grandchildren, Natasha, Angie; great granddaughter, Emma; brother, Blair (Dorothy), Sillikers; sisters, Roma Allison (late Walter), Boom Road, Christine Whitney (Tim), Whitney, Martha Briggs, Eva Matchett, Rhonda King (Bob MacDougall), all of Moncton, Elsie MacTavish (Bob), Berry Mills, Valerie Harvey, South Esk, Kay Doucet (late Cliff), Saint John; sister-in-law, Arvilla Matchett, Moncton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Sidney, Delmont and Silas; sister, Lillian.
