FREEMAN WHITFIELD MACLEOD
MACLEOD, FREEMAN WHITFIELD - 92, of Second North River passed away peacefully Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 at the Moncton Hospital with his loving wife Annie at his side. Born in Salisbury he was a son of the late Richard and Mary (Killam) MacLeod. Freeman retired from Canada Post after 23 years service and was a Veteran of World War II having served in Continental Europe with the Signal Corps. He was a member of Second North River Baptist Church and a former member of Highfield St. Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Boy Scout Leader. He loved any activity that took him outdoors, especially time spent at the camp. Survived by his wife the former Annie Herrington; sons, Daryll (Charlotte) and Kevin (Katherine) of Salisbury; cherished grandchildren, Benjamin of Nova Scotia, Lori Beth of Saskatchewan and Faith of Salisbury; a brother, Robert (Eva) of Salisbury, and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Goldwin, John, Charles, Leslie, Jesse, Waldo and Everett; sisters, Alice, Gertrude Lounsbury, Lucy Wheaton, Edna O'Blenes and Florence Alward. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and from where the funeral will be Wednesday, August 26th at 2 pm with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Interment at the Monteagle Cemetery. If desired memorials to the Second North River Baptist Church Building would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
