ARMSTRONG, RUTH ELEANOR - 1909 - 2009 - The death of Ruth Eleanor Armstrong, widow of George Armstrong, of Moncton occurred on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Drury Cove, NB on August 12th, 1909 she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Agnes Isadora (Buchanan) O'Dell. Prior to her retirement Ruth had worked at Woolworths Moncton for many years. She had also attended St George's Anglican Church. Ruth is survived by her daughter Shirley-(Deanie)-Motkaluk of Edmonton, as well as six grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by her husband, George; her parents; her children Yorke, John, Sandy, Lynden; her granddaughter Vicki Lee; her sisters Annie, Geraldine and her brother Harry. The family will be receiving visitors at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street, Moncton on Sunday, August 30th from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home on Monday, August 31st at 11 am followed by a reception in the reception room of the funeral home. Interment will take place in The Church of the Ascension Cemetery, Apohaquai, NB. Donations in Mrs. Armstrong's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation -Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
