GALLANT, MARGUERITE (POIRIER) 1911 - 2009- Marguerite Gallant, 98, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14th, 2009 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Grande-Digue on May 6, 1911, she was the daughter of the late James and Domethilde (Bourgeois) Poirier. Marguerite is survived by six sons, Arthur (Louise) and John both of Grande-Digue, Thomas (Rose) of Shediac, Jacques (Raymonde) and Philippe (Thérèse) both of Moncton, Pierre of Vernon, BC; one brother, Louis Poirier (Margie) of Connecticut, USA; also several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Emmett, two sons, Frank and Gérard, five brothers Eric, Jean, Joseph, Gérard, Thomas, and three sisters, Hermine, Philomène and Manda. Visitation will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, September 17, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Friday, September 18, from 9:30 till 10:30 am. Funeral mass will take place at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Friday, September 18 at 11 am.
