44, Wagmatcook John Andrew Simon, 44, 17 Church Loop Rd., Wagmatcook, died in the early morning hours on Dec. 3, 2008 at Victoria County Memorial Hospital. Born in Baddeck, he was the son of Susan Simon-Bernard. He was a member of Blessed Kateri Tekekwitha Parish, Wagmatcook. He is survived by his wife, Patsy MacKay; two sons, Timmy Isadore, Shelburne, and Nicholas Isadore, Wagmatcook; one daughter, Charlene Isadore, Wagmatcook; two brothers, Simon and Rene Bernard, both from Wagmatcook; four sisters, Jessie (Roger) Christmas, Membertou, Patty Simon, Wagmatcook, Mary Hillier, Sydney, and Jackie (Phil) Drinnen, Little Narrows; 38 nieces and nephews; eight greatnieces and nephews and seven godchildren, Katrina, Pictou, Tad Simon, A.J. Bernard, Devon Isadore, Isabelle Isadore, Gavin Michael and Roger Googoo Jr. He was predeceased by one nephew, Cyrus Peck. The body is resting at his mother's, 17 Church Loop Rd., with visit hours starting at 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, 2008. The funeral will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Queen of the World Catholic Church with Rev. Robert MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in Wagmatcook Cemetery. Funeral arrangements under the direction of MacAskill's Funeral Home, Baddeck.
