HUBBARD, GEORGE MELVIN - The death of George Melvin Hubbard of Miramichi, NB occurred at his late residence on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the age of 85. George is predeceased by his wife, the late Marie Isabel (Harper) Hubbard whose death occurred two weeks ago on September 8, 2009. Born in Chatham, NB, George was the son of the late Melvin and Edith (Ryan) Hubbard. George was a member of the Miramichi Salmon Association, past member of the Northumberland Masonic Lodge # 17 F&AM and a retired from Imperial Oil Ltd as an office clerk. George is survived by two daughters, Susan Hubbard Brown and Ann Vickers (Kevin) all Miramichi, NB; one brother, Melvin (Evelyn) of Los Angeles, California; three grandchildren, Andrew Vickers (Vanessa), Laura Martin (Mitch) and Andrew Burns (Riley); and three great grandchildren, Reese Vickers, Grady and Cooper Burns and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother, Melvin. Visitation will be held at Bell's Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from St. Andrew's Anglican Church on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11 am with Rev. Richard Steeves officiating. Burial will follow in the Miramichi Cemetery.
