EASTWOOD, DONNA MARIE (ACKER) - 1947-2009 - Moncton - Donna Eastwood, 62, formerly of Birchtown, N.S. passed away peacefully at her home surrounded with loving family at her side on Sunday, October 4th. She was a wonderful and adored mother, sister, and grandmother. All those who knew her admired her for her strength, compassion and selfless love for family and friends. Her passions included playing cards, reading, her love of horses and the unconditional love she received from her feline companions, Snooky and Mo-Jo. The ocean brought her emotional peace and her faith gave her strength to the end. It will be difficult to imagine not being around her infectious smile and energy. Living through her children's eyes was her greatest pleasure. Mom will be forever missed by her children, Jody (Mary Jo) of Toronto, Cory (Kelly) of Moncton, Toby of Moncton, Angela of Moncton, Ryan (Liala) of Calgary, and Ashley of Riverview. She was a loving grandmother to Lindsay, Zachary, William, Laura and Curtis. She is also survived by her sister, Lynn (Acker) Strang of Dartmouth, N.S. Donna was predeceased by her father, Lindsay Acker; her mother, Violet Acker; her brother, Lloyd Acker and her infant daughter, Rita Marie Holden. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Passage Funeral Services, Moncton N.B. There will be no visitation. There will be two receptions to celebrate Donna's life. The first reception will be held at the Birchtown Community Center in Birchtown, N.S. on Thursday, the 8th of October from 6 to 9 pm. The second reception will be held at the Mapleton Park Rotary Lodge in Moncton on Sunday the 11th of October from 1 to 4 pm.
