PATRICK O'LEARY HENNESSY
HENNESSY, PATRICK O'LEARY - It is with deep sadness that the family of O'Leary Hennessy announce his unexpected passing on October 14, 2009, at CHUS Fleurimont, Sherbrooke, Quebec, after a brief illness at age 61 years. Born in Campbellton, NB, on September 17, 1948, he was the son of the late Edison and the late Helen (O'Leary) Hennessy. O'Leary is survived by his cherished spouse, Marie (Mimi) Dubuc, Richmond, Quebec; one brother, William (Bill) Hennessy, Calgary; aunts, Evelyn O'Leary, St. Peters, NS and Patricia O'Leary-Coughlan (Hilarion) Douglas, NB; and sister-in-law Veronica Dubuc (late Raymond Dagenais) Pointe Claire, Quebec. Nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former students are grateful to have had him in their lives. He was a graduate of Assumption Academy, Campbellton, NB, followed by his student years at St. Joseph's Teachers' College, Gaspe, Quebec, prior to graduating from St. Thomas University, Fredericton, NB. O'Leary had a long and successful career in the field of education. Besides teaching and principalship positions in various places throughout the province of Quebec, he had also spent five years in Saudi Arabia as well as ten years in Kamsar, Guinee, West Africa, before settling in Richmond, Quebec, in 2001 where he taught until the end of the school year 2009. He had numerous and varied interests----the foremost having been the love of life, of people and history. His curiosity fostered his interest in traveling, reading, music, stamp collecting, planning and nurturing with Mimi varions gardens be they flowers, trees or vegetables. He seemed to be always involved in home improvements and community initiatives, exploring the great outdoors and, above all, enjoying his many friends and acquaintances. His funeral and interment were held on October 17, 2009, in Richmond, Quebec. Rest in peace, O'Leary.
