RODGER E.T. RITCHIE

RITCHIE, RODGER E.T. - 1922-2009 - Rodger Ritchie of Moncton passed away on Saturday, November 7th, 2009 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Robert and Edith (Colquhoun) Ritchie. He is survived by his daughter Allison Cayer (Claude) of Havelock, ON; sons Rodger David Ritchie of Sudbury ON, and Michael John Ritchie (Joanne) of Calgary; grandchildren Rob Ritchie, Jacqueline Ritchie, Victoria Ritchie, David Ritchie, Dale Hunnie (Lisa), Laura Toulman (Peter), Jason Cayer; great grandchildren Jessica Hunnie, Tyler Hunnie, Samantha Toulman and Connor Toulman and many relatives in England and Scotland. He was predeceased by his wife Mary; brothers Darroch and Patrick and a sister Jayne. A Veteran of the Second World War, Rodger served as a fighter pilot with the RAF & RCAF in North Africa and Europe. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch #6. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a public Legion Service at 1:45 pm on Thursday, November 12th, at Fair Haven Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 12th, 2009 Father Kevin Borthwick officiating. A reception for Rodgers friends and family will follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room. Private interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations, in lieu of flowers may be made to the Canadian Red Cross. Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530.
