BEST, EILEEN FLORENCE - 86, of Salisbury and formerly Montreal passed away at home Monday, December 7, 2009 surrounded by loving members of her family. Born in Montreal on January 20, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Christian and Nellie (Lee-Whiting) Hansen. Eileen lived in Montreal until 2001 when she came to live with her devoted son, Edward and his wife Beverly in Salisbury. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother of four, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was retired from Oglivy's Department Store in Montreal and a long standing member of the ACW at Saint Mark's Anglican Church in St. Laurent, QC. Eileen was an avid bowler and enjoyed time spent with family at her cottage in the Laurentian Mountains. She was kind and loving and she always welcomed a house full of family and friends - "The more, the merrier!" Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, George; brother Charles and sister Louise (Harding). She will be sadly missed by her sons, Edward (Beverly) and Donald Best; grandchildren Gillian Crandall, Stephanie Thomas, Christian Best, Corey Best and Kimberly Best; great grandchildren Joel, Callan and Brynn Crandall, Brennen Thomas and brother Christopher Hansen. Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Wednesday, 7 to 9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 11 am with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Interment will take place at Montreal Memorial Park. In memory of Eileen memorials, if desired, to the Kenneth E.
