CORMIER, EUGENE J. - 88, of Moncton, took his last breath very peacefully, with his loving family by his side, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital on Monday December 7, 2009. Born in Adamsville, NB, on April 9, 1921, he was the son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth Cormier. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 60 years, Edna (Bernard); his daughter Anne Nelson (Glen) of Moncton; his son Paul (Wanda) of Prince George, BC; his grandchildren: Jennifer, Jason and Jessica; several nieces, nephews and the Bernard family of Adamsville who he loved dearly. He was the last living member of his family of 10. Retired from Dryden Motors in 1981 as an auto mechanic, Eugene was very proud that he served his country during the Second World War and was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch #6 and the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Golden Age Club. A devout catholic, he woke each morning to watch mass with Edna and then he was off to Pic-A-Loaf to share a coffee with friends. A man who always had places to go, people to see! The family will receive condolences at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and Friday, December 11 from 10 am at St-Timothée R.C. Church in Adamsville from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance on Thursday at 3:50 pm from the funeral home.
