JOHN FLOOD NAGLE

NAGLE, JOHN FLOOD - 1923-2009 - "We are such things as dreams are made on and our little life is rounded with a sleep." - The death of John Flood Nagle of The Briarlea Residence, Moncton, occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Thomas and Helen (Flood) Nagle. As a younger man he enjoyed many sports and outdoor activities including hunting, skiing, curling, swimming and gardening. He had been a very active member of various community organizations in the Moncton area and for many years had owned and operated Central Insurance Agency with his business partner Mac Dayton. John had a deep faith which sustained him through difficult times and throughout his lifetime he remained a man gently appreciative of his family and friends. He is survived by his second wife, Marjorie (Horsman) Nagle; two sons J. Christopher and J. Patrick both of Moncton; his daughter Mary E. Campbell of Quispamsis; granddaughter Ellen Campbell of Vancouver; sister Mary (Richard) Gormley of Fredericton; his step-sons Howard (Joan) Horsman of Riverview, and Kim (Josie) Horsman of Vancouver; step-daughters Margery Lee (Murray) Lynch of Moncton and Anne (David) Long of Calgary and all of their children. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Joan (McCluskey) Nagle; his daughter, Shawn; his brothers, Harold, David, Gerald, Michael, Gregory, James and Eugene; his sisters, Margaret O'Brien, Irma Montague, Nancy McCaffrey, Rita Nagle and Suzanne Nagle. The family will receive visitors at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street, Moncton, on Thursday, December 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A Celebration of John's life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 18th at 11 am followed by a reception in the family reception area of the funeral home. A private family interment will be held in the spring. Donations in John's memory may be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or the memorial of the donor's choice. The Nagle Family wish to sincerely thank Howard and Joan Horsman for the many years of kindness and friendship they extended to our father, our Aunt Mary and Uncle Dick Gormley who visited Dad and always kept our family in their thoughts and prayers, and also to the Staff of The Briarlea Residence for their wonderful care of Dad.
