KANE, GEORGIA MAY - 1916-2009 - Georgia May Kane, 93, of Alma, NB passed away on December 23, 2009 at the Moncton Hospital. Georgia was born in Alma West, NB. on January 8th, 1916, the daughter of Roland and Pearl (McKinley) Dixon. Georgia was an avid quilter and also enjoyed gardening. Above all things she loved time spent with her family and friends. Georgia will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and friend to all who knew her. Her gentle smile and generous heart will live with us forever. She is survived by nine children; Edna Sinclair (Melvin) of Halifax, NS., Douglas Kane (Patricia) of Alma, NB., Joan Tingley of Halifax, NS., Donna Pittman (Allan) of Alma, NB., Wayne Kane (Gloria) of Alma,NB., Russell Kane (Brenda) of Brooks, AB., Clayton Kane (Darlene) of Alma, NB, Paula Landsdale (Richard) of Riverview NB., Darlene Nelson (Steven) of Dartmouth, NS., as well as fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Winnifred Burns (Leo) and Edna Elliott (Floyd). The family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Albert County Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 29th, in the afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. A Memorial Service and celebration of Georgia's life will take place at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 30th, 2009 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Leonard Geldart officiating. Interment will be held in the Alma United Cemetery at a later date. Following the service the family invites everyone to join them in further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the funeral home.
