JOHN JOSEPH MACLEAN
MACLEAN, JOHN JOSEPH - 89, formerly of Brookland St., Antigonish, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2009 in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Daniel and Annie (MacDonald) MacLean. John moved to Antigonish in the 1950's while working for Sobey's. He later worked with Co-op Atlantic in Antigonish and Moncton. Upon his retirement, John and his wife Dorothy retired to Antigonish. John was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children: Anne MacIsaac, Edmonton; Martin MacLean, Sydney; Kathy Kormos (Charles), Stony Plain, AB; Aileen Boudreau (Omer), Ottawa; Anita Murray (Rodney), Edmonton; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy, brother Joseph and sister Mary LeForte both of Glace Bay. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm, in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St. Antigonish. Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 29 in St. Ninian's Cathedral with Rev. Dennis Lamey presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
