DESPRES, ZITA - 1923 - 2010 - Zita Despres, 86, of Cocagne, has passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 10th, 2010 at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. She was married to the late Edgar Despres (1996). Born in Cocagne on October 4th, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Alice (Cormier) Breau. Zita was a member of the Cocagne Golden Age Club, and she worked in a Lobster processing plant for several years. She will be sadly missed by her six children, Marie Léger (Louis-Philippe) of Saint-Antoine, Rose-Mai Despres (Jean Despres) of Cocagne, Fernande LeBlanc of Saint-Joseph de Kent, Claudette Cormier (Paul Vautour) of Bouctouche, and Laurie (Charline) of Barachois. She also leaves seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one sister, Alicia Léger of Trenton, ON; one brother, Olias (Antoinette) of Cocagne and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Eric and Amédée. Visitation will be held at the Saint-Pierre Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Cocagne from Monday, January 11th, from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Cocagne Church on Tuesday, January 12th, 2010 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
