NEW GLASGOW – Elaine Margaret Yorke, 1935–2010 died February 27, 2010, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Elaine was the daughter of the late Laura MacLean Jackson, New Glasgow and the late John Alexander Jackson of Halifax.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Yorke, New Glasgow; aunt, Sara Munro, New Glasgow; and cousin, Judy Salmonds, Ontario.
She was predeceased by a sister in infancy.
Elaine was justifiably proud of her Tanglewood Terrace Home. She had a special talent for growing masses of red geraniums every summer, and placed so beautifully throughout her well-appointed, prize-winning property.
Elaine was a treasure. Over the years she has loved, tended, and finally lost many near-and-dear family members, and she will be profoundly missed by the very few remaining relatives on whom she has showered unfailing kindness and support.
At Elaine’s request cremation has taken place, no visitation or funeral service will be held. Burial will be private in Christ Anglican Church Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA or the Heart and Stroke Fund of Nova Scotia.
