Edvin Babineau, 86, passed away suddenly at home in St. André LeBlanc on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Born March 12, 1923 in Saint-André, he was the son of the late Jaddus and Édith (Donelle) Babineau. Prior to his retirement, Edvin was a woodsman, carpenter and a past maintenance employee with the Université de Moncton. He is survived by his wife Adrienne (Hébert) Babineau, his three daughters: Aline Belliveau (late Charles) and Louise Babineau both of Shediac, Cécile Spence of Dieppe; one sister, Stéphanie Bourque of Sackville; five grandchildren: Ginette, Lisa, Julie, Jennifer, Pierre Renée; five great grandchildren: Zachary, Tyler, Joshua, Abbigail and Brenna; and by many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by a daughter Bernice, seven sisters: Alma, Prémilia, Clairice, Loretta, Délia, Edna and Edmée; and by four brothers: Damien, Philias, Arthur and Amédée.
Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Monday, from 9 a.m. until time of departure at 10:50 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Ste. Thérèse d\'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in Edvin\'s memory to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital (neuphrology), 330 Université Ave., Moncton, N. B. E1C 2Z3 (862-4285) or to the Ste. Thérèse d\'Avila Cemetery Fund, 2648 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé, N. B. E4N 1E4 would be appreciated.
