WARD, Blanche “Marie”, 83, of Mount Uniacke, Hants County, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the Windsor Elms Village, Windsor. Born on August 29, 1926, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Benedict) Davis. Marie and her husband, Carl, resided in Dover, Mass. for 33 years, coming back to Mount Uniacke to retire in 1993. She was a member of the South Rawdon Baptist Church. Marie is survived by her son, Garnet, Bellingham, Mass.; grandchildren, Andrew (Jamie) and Deric Ward; Melissa (Dale) McCann); great-grandchildren, Donovan and Isabella Ward; Ava McCann, all of Bellingham, Mass; sisters, Jean (Burnette “Bernie”) Fralic, Lower Sackville; Linda (William) Thomson, Mount Uniacke; many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carl Morris Ward; her son, Charles Joseph Ward. Visitation was 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, February 25, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010, in the South Rawdon Baptist Church, South Rawdon. The Rev. Clarence Bungay officiating. Interment was the South Rawdon Baptist Cemetery, followed by a reception in the South Rawdon Baptist Church Hall. The family wishes to give a special Thanks, to Dr. Mark Kazimirski, to all the Nursing staff and support staff of the Windsor Elms, for all the very special care and thoughtfulness they gave to Marie during her stay. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Marie, were requested to be made to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of one’s choice.
