Passed peacefully away at Agnes Pratt Home on March 2, 2010, in the presence of her cherished family, Hazel Stead (nee Hillier), aged 76 years, formerly of Grand Bank. Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Matilda, husbands: John Miller and Maxwell Stead, son Wayne, brothers: John, Angus and Cyril. Leaving to mourn her six children: daughter Sylvia Hanlon (Walter); sons: Calvin (Sandra), Wilson (Sandra), Thomas, John (Tanis) and Brian (Maxine). Lovingly remembered by her sisters: Grace, Doris and Vida; brothers: Clyde and Harold; as well as her sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Agnes Pratt Home for their care. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 10-12 a.m., 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow funeral service with interment to take place at St. Alban’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Grand Bank on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 3 p.m. As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Hazel’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
