It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Marie Way, 76, a resident of Miners Memorial Manor, Sydney Mines, and formerly of Regent Street, North Sydney, on Thursday, March 4, 2010.
Born in English Harbour West, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Ellen ‘Nellie’ Fiander.
Mary was a member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church, and the UCW, North Sydney. She was also a member of the LOBA and the LTBA Lodge, North Sydney, and also of the North Sydney Senior Citizens and Pensioners Club.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Edward) Jackson, Sydney Mines; her grandson, Troy Jackson, Millville, and granddaughter, Natalie Trembath, Fredericton; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jamie Lee, Riley, Lola, Cayli and Payton; her son, Roy Way, Fredericton; and brother, Joe (Jean) Fiander, North Sydney.
She was predeceased by her husband, Doug Way and her grandson, Doug Way Jr.
There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service for Mary will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 9 at St. Matthew Wesley United Church with Rev. David Luker officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Miner’s Memorial Manor, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
