Marie Olive Trainor

(nee Carberry) July 8, 1952 - August 20, 2008 of St. John's. Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Complex, surrounded by her loving family and friends, on August 20, 2008, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by both parents Jean and Edward Carberry of Spaniard's Bay in 2005. Leaving to mourn her loving and devoted husband John of 37 years; with special memories her four sons, whom she cherished, Douglas, Cory (fiancée Susan), Blair (friend Maria), and Adam; granddaughter Mari-Beth. A special thank you to sister Cathy and brother-in-law Doug Driscoll for their unconditional love, dedication and support; mother-in-law Catherine Trainor, Port Kirwan; Trainor families; special niece Sherri Lundrigan (Wayne and Abigail); special nephew Blaine Driscoll (Raeann, Ashton and Ethan); niece Jennifer Trainor (Cara); uncle Jack Carberry, Pembroke, ON; aunt Bride Carberry, St. John's; uncle Jessie and aunt Margarite Smith, Spaniard's Bay. A very special thank you to two dear friends Patsy and Gerry Hall who spent night after night sitting by her bedside taking exceptional care of her, and to Paul and Christine Butler for their generous support. Friends and travel companions Rose and Don O'Neill, Cards, Darts and Trailer Park buddies, co-workers at Weather Shore Windows, her son Douglas' rowing teams - H.J. O'Connell and Lambs Rum, other special sister and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. A very special thank you to Dr. Joy McCarthy and the cancer team of doctors and the nurses and staff of 4NB and 4NA (HSC) and to Father Garry Parsons, Rev. Karen Thorne, Father Francis Roche, Father Browne and Father Ken Walsh for the service. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 23 at 1:30 p.m. from Corpus Christi Church, Waterford Bridge Road with cremation to follow. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Daffodil Place (Lilies for Lillie) or to the Children's Wish Foundation.
