Nichols, Gordon Louis “Gordie” - 66, of Canaan, Kings County, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at home. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Gordon and Sara May (Lowe) Nichols. He was retired from Irving Oil Limited where he delivered home heating oil. He was a member of the Down East Classic Car Club and had been an avid sportsman. He is survived by his common-law-wife, Maria Diana Ernst; two daughters, Michele (Laurie) Harding, Aylesford; Lesley (Ken) Borden, Upper Dyke; a son, Kevin (Carrie), White Rock; two sisters, Elizabeth (Simon) Dargie, Kentville; Mary Lowe, New Minas; five grandchildren, Sarah, Riley, Chloe, Ava and Melody. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, Reverend Murray Shaw officiated. Burial will take place at a later date in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Kentville. Family flowers only, by request.
