The family of the late Myrtle Jean Loud would like to announce her passing at the Atlantic Rehab and Nursing Centre in Calais, Maine, on, March 11, 2010. Mrs. Loud resided in Boston for many years, having been employed by the Boston City Hospital and upon her retirement moved to Bangor, Maine. Mrs. Loud was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada on February 13, 1911 and was the daughter of the late John Carson Dempster and Phoebe Jane Penny. Mrs. Loud was married to Walter Loud of Milton, Mass., who passed away in 1950. Mrs. Loud is survived by nieces, Margaret Melvin, Audrey Sutton, Carol Boyce and Avice Forrester of Saint John, Janice Dempster of Birmingham, Alabama, and nephews Douglas Dempster (Dorothy), Riverview, New Brunswick, Vaughan Dempster (Sheila) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia and Fred Ross of Los Angeles, California. Besides her parents, Mrs. Loud was predeceased by brothers, Leslie, Birmingham, Alabama; Roland, of Boston, Mass; John, Harold, Andrew and James of Saint John, New Brunswick. Sisters, Nellie Forrester (Roy) of Saint John, New Brunswick and Margaret Ross (Fred), Los Angeles, California. Mrs. Loud is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A grave side service will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, Maine, at a later date. Arrangements by Brookings-Smith, Bangor, ME.
