It is with a sad heart that the family of William Timothy King of Little Bras d’Or announce the passing of their beloved husband and father who passed away peacefully on Thursday morning at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Little Bras d’Or, William was the son of the late John James King and Mary Elizabeth O’Sullivan.
He is survived by wife, Verna; his children, Joe (Catherine), Millville, Christine (Jude), North Sydney, John (Tracy), Alder Point, Rhonda (Stephen), Sydney Mines, Cheryl (Dwayne), Halifax. A devoted grandfather, he is survived by his grandchildren, Krista, Stephen, Kaylee, Amber and William. Also surviving are his sisters, Ann (Wayne) MacLellan, Millville, and Helen (Joe) March, Tobin Road; his brothers, Leo ‘Dewey’ (Sophie), Little Bras d’Or, Jimmy, Sydney, and Kevin (Roxanne), Hamilton, Ont.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce King (Mosher) of Western Shore, Lunenburg County, his grandson, Joey, son of Joe and Catherine King, his brothers, Sonny and Butchie and his sisters, Margarite (Mike) Quirk, North Sydney, and Betty (Bill) Myroniuk, Medicine Hat, Alta.
William lived a full life. He was employed for 25 years with the Northside Victoria District School Board and held a part-time position as security for the Northside General Hospital. He has touched the hearts of those who knew him. He will be missed by all.
Visitation today (Friday), 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
