Harvey, Betty (Mary Elizabeth Ruth Pond)
With her daughters by her side, entered into the very presence of her heavenly Father on Sunday, March 14th, 2010 at York Manor. Betty was the wife of 44 years to the late Gerald V. Harvey. She was a loving mother to Ruth Doohan (John) of Belleisle Creek, Doris Mersereau (Laurie) of Fredericton, Marie Mahar (late John W.) of Lincoln, Pam Waugh (John) of Fredericton, Joan Schriver (Mel) of Moncton. Betty was also a wonderful and fun-loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Born in 1924 to the late Vivian and Mary (Burpee) Pond in Cobalt, Ontario, Betty was a long-time resident of Maugerville. She was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters. Betty was a member of the Upper Maugerville United Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years.
The family will receive visitors at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street, Oromocto on Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral will take place at the Maugerville Baptist Church, 7 Peters Road, Maugerville on Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tim MacDonald and Rev. Dr. Charles Harvey officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Maugerville Baptist Cemetery.
