It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis Patrick White of Happy Valley Goose Bay, Labrador, originally from Witless Bay, NL, announce his passing on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, NL, at the age of 66 years. Francis passed away after a brief but courageous battle with Leukemia. He was a devoted father to son Terry (Tanus) White and Craig (Sonya) White of Paradise, NL and daughter Christina White of Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL. Francis was also especially proud of his grandchildren Terri-Lynn, Tiffany, Kyle, Ryan and Joshua White. Francis was predeceased by his parents Christopher and Mary White of Witless Bay, NL; brothers: Philip (Beulah) White of Hamilton, ON and Michael White of Witless Bay, NL. Leaving to mourn are sisters: Florence (Patrick) Vickers of Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL; brothers: Harold White of Gander, NL and Vincent White of Fredericton, NB; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends, including special friend Paulette Wiseman and his dog Jake. Special thanks are extended to the nurses, doctors and staff of 4 North A at the Health Sciences Centre; as well as to Father Francis Roche and Rev. Dr. Curt Clark for their care and compassion shown during this very difficult time. Francis will be resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road with visitation on Tuesday from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, March 17th at 1 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel, with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Leukemia Research Fund of Canada. A memorial service to be held in Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL at a later date.
