88, New Waterford Mary Sutherland passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Euphrasia and Walter Ellsworth. Mary was employed for 35 years at the New Waterford Hospital in the accounting department retiring in 1985. She was an avid bridge player for well over 50 years. Surviving is her only son, Jody (Philomena) and their children, David (Lindsey) and Graeme (Amy), both of Calgary, and Meaghan, at home. She is survived by her sisters, Kay (Albert) Boudreau, New Waterford, Agnes Green, Ontario, Sr. Margaret Ellsworth, Halifax; and her brother, Jody (Claire) Ellsworth, New Waterford. Many nieces and nephews mourn her passing. Her husband, Frank predeceased her along with her parents and brother, Bill. Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford, 862-6439. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 at St. Leonard Parish (St. Michael's Church), 5310 Union Hwy. with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Following mass, please join us for a reception at the KOC Hall, 3236 Plummer Ave., New Waterford. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
