Sydney Mines With love and sadness, the family of Pamela Haroldene Bailey, celebrate her life and regret to announce her passing on Jan. 21, 2009, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Pam's strong faith carried both her and her family through her short illness. Born in England on May 9, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Harold William and Daisy Elizabeth (Allen) Stubbert. She was a member and elder of St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney. Pam will be greatly missed by her loving husband and best friend, James David Bailey; her son, David (Tracy) Charlesworth; and daughter, Susan (Leonard) Snow; as well as her stepchildren, Fred, Marg, Judy, Diana and Danny; grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Pam is also survived by her aunt, Margaret MacLennan; and cousins, Elma, Betty, Linda and Kathy. Pam was predeceased by her infant son, Peter, and her uncle, Russell Stubbert. Special thanks to her best friends, Cassie Brochu and Pat MacLeod, Dr. Michel McKeough and the staff at 4 West, Northside General Hospital as well as Rev. David Luker. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Luker officiating. The funeral is under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. The burial will take place at a later date. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Donations in Pam's memory may be made to St. Matthew Wesley United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of one's choice.
