NEW GLASGOW – Doris Eileen Marks, age 79, of Pine Street, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at home.
She was a former employee of Maritime Tel and Tel. She was a member of Trinity United Church, the Legion Choir and Golden Link Rebekah Lodge. She was a former volunteer at Glen Haven Manor, Sunset Haven and Riverview Adult Residential Center.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Marks; daughter, Andrea Marks, Dartmouth; sisters-in-law: Roma Cooper, Dartmouth; Harriet Mansour, Pictou; Helen Marks, Pictou; Juliette Dauphinee, Dartmouth.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday in Trinity United Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
