Shirley Mae Catherine (MacIntosh) Fraser, 81, of Stellarton, passed away in Halifax, after a lengthy illness.
Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Chester D. and Pearl E. MacIntosh .
She was a lifelong resident of Stellarton and a member of Sharon St. John United Church, UCW and the choir, and member of the Grand Lodge. She worked at Sears for many years and later enjoyed and experienced after school child care with the Mason family. She was an active member of her community, church, choir. She enjoyed walking, gardening, pets, crafts of all kinds, classical music, volunteering for various charities such as heart and stroke, cancer society and in most recent years made breast cancer awareness ribbons for distribution.
Surviving are daughters, Jane (Mike) MacNeil, Stellarton; Joanne (Shawn) Halifax; three grandsons: Allan, Fraser and Luke; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; fur family friends, Missy and Champ.
She was predeceased by husband, Ed; son, John; and brothers, Gary and Sonny.
At Shirley’s request she has donated her body to science.

Memorial service will take place at Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton, Wednesday, March 18 at 2 p.m. with reception to follow in the church hall.
Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s society or to SPCA.
