Passed peacefully away after a short illness in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Herbert E. Downs, age 80 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary (nee Byrne), 1987. Last surviving member of the Herbert and Beatrice (Sullivan) Downs family. Leaving to mourn his loss, son Shane (Jennifer); daughter Toni Pike (Wayne); five grandchildren: Andrew (Nichole), Nova Scotia, Christopher (Alishia), Labrador City and Matthew Downs, and Stephen and Heather Pike; two great-grandchildren: Eric and Nate; special niece Phyllis Walsh, as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. from Caul's Chapel.
